SIT BOY! Anyway, get back on topic. The Windows Kernel is stupid and messy, Mac is better, less messy and not as stupid, thats one of the reasons Mac is faster. The Linux Kernel is best, since more people work on it, it is free and open, people tend to make it better, it is updated more often, so Microsoft or Apple cant compete. _________________

| You do use the kernel a lot. The moment you press the on switch on the computer electricity flows into the computer, powers it up and executes something called Basic Input/Output System (More commonly known as BIOS). BIOS in turn pulls a couple of bootstraps and you are linked to the bootloader, in Linux, the mos popular ones are GRUB or LiLo (Linux Loader). The bootloader in turn finds a Kernel, that starts Daemons, and at this point you should have a working computer, atleast a BASH (Bourne Again Shell). I am not 100% on this, but i think that the devils jester would be able to explain a lot more complex, i havent read the entire How UNIX and Linux works quite yet. _________________

| The kernel is the core of every operating system. Kernel = Core _________________
